Science proves that when you listen to music, you improve your mood, diminish anxiety, or encourage your general well-being.

Despite the situation you find yourself, be it heartbreak, stress from work, the need for good vibes, or just something to keep encouraging yourself, there is music out there that can change that feeling positively.

The way you listen doesn’t matter though whether it is from a headphone, the stereo of your car, home speakers, etc, the rhythm does it work and it is your work to just listen.

Such songs range from the classic genres like ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” to music like Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” we listen to in these contemporary days.

1. “Happy” by Pharrell

Happy as the name implies is a song to be happy and people see it as the true anthem for happiness.

2. (You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin

Although Aretha Franklin is late, the vocals she imbibed in her song are still seen as nearly matchless.

It tells of being a complete woman, though the masculine race still relish in is lyrics. 

3. I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas

You would need a chilled glass of champagne beside you if you are ready to listen to this prototypical party honorary song.

A part of the lyrics goes

“I got a feeling / That tonight’s gonna be a good night / That tonight’s gonna be a good night / That tonight’s gonna be a good, good night” and it’s certain that you have heard it before but if not, then tonight is gonna be a good night for you when you are done listening.

4. Love On Top” by Beyoncé

This soulful record by the popular American singer, Beyonce sends the rhythm straight to the muscles as it intensifies you for dance.

It was well-known among the music folks and was able to amass the Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance, Soul Train Music Award for Best Dance Performance, and several other awards.

5. Just Fine” by Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige tells you in this song to prevent anything impeding your progress as you soar higher.

It is an inspirational song that keeps you in a good mood and can energize you when working.

6. Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin

In 1988, when Bobby released this beautiful inspirational music, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks as it drew numerous listeners who were ready to feel the moment to itself.

It tells you to push away all worries and remain happy.

7. Good Life” by One Republic

One thing that catches the fantasy of listeners is the steady whistling which infects you as you find yourself whistling alongside the singer after a few moments of listening.

Some of the lyrics like, “We all got our stories, but please tell me what there is to complain about?” rewires your mind frame and assures you no worries are so great.

The music was done by OneRepublic band in 2010 and adopted from their second studio album, Waking Up (2009).

This band consisted of Ryan TedderBrent Kutzle, and Eddie Fisher alongside their pal, Noel Zancanella.

Tedder with the support of Kutzle and Zancanella produced it and with the aid of adverts, television series, and films, it grew more popular and was number 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

In June 2011, they released with features from B.o.B, an American rapper a remix, and five years later, the song was rated as Explicit on iTunes due to the excessive use of ‘bullshit’ in the song.

8. Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey 

Don’t Stop Believin’” was released by Journey, an American band and it ranked number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

It is a “perfect rock song” and was able to sell more than 7 million copies around the United States.

You can simply shut your eyes and sing along the beautiful lyrics deep from your lungs.

9. Can’t Stop the Feeling!” by Justin Timberlake

Just like Pharrell Williams’s “Happy,” the soundtrack of this song tells you to dance on and keep dancing.

Justin Timberlake is an American singer and released the song on the 6th of May, 2016.

It was used in the film Trolls (2016), where Timberlake articulated the character “Branch” and has the position of the executive music producer.

Aside from Timberlake, Max Martin, and Shellback also contributed to producing this song with some addition of funk to its already up-tempo disco-pop, and soul-pop rhythm.

10. Pocket Full of Sunshine” by Natasha Bedingfield

“In the darkness, there’s light,” is a popular phrase in this song by Natasha Bedingfield which she released in 2008.

It tells you to see the glass as half full to have the perfect escape.

She is an English singer and this was her second single with the aid of John Shanks and Danielle Brisebois, songwriters and musicians as well.

In Europe, it didn’t see the light of the sky till April 2011, when it was released as the lead single from her third European studio album Strip Me Away (2011).

Bedingfield pointed out that “Pocketful of Sunshine” is her favorite, as she gives you a clue on how to flee from your worries while adapting dance-pop and adult contemporary styles in her music.

Several people saw it as a lively and good tune for the summer while some criticized it.

Despite the critics, it was able to climb up to the number five place on the American Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

It sold three million downloads and was the platform on which she attained success.

It went on to gag the third position on Canadian Hot 100 and this caused Music Canada to certify it as a platinum song.

It had a music video on April 15, 2008, which features Bedingfield as she flees from a worrying condition and dancing on a roof with other background dancers.
